Synchronous Dynamic Random-Access memory(SDRAM) is dynamic random access memory (DRAM) with a synchronous interface. SDRAM has a synchronization interfgace that waits for a clock signal before responding to control inputs, so it can synchronize with the computer’s system bus. The clock is used to drive a finite state machine that pipelines incoming instructions. This allows SDRAM to have a more complex mode of operation compared to asynchronous DRAM(asynchronous DRAM), which has no synchronous interface.
