Fiber Optics

Fiber optics is a branch of optics that studies the transmission characteristics of light in optical fibers, the fabrication technology of optical fibers and its application. Optical fibers consist of a core and a foreskin. According to the distribution of core refractive index, it can be divided into two categories: uniform core optical fibers and graded refractive index optical fibers. There are two theories to study the transmission of light in fibers. One is based on the principles of total reflection in geometric optics, which does not consider the fluctuation of light. The other is based on the theory of electromagnetic waves.
