Inclinometers are designed to measure the direction of an object relative to gravity. Usually based on some forms of accelerometer, inclinometers differ from general accelerometers in that it is able to produce an output that directly indicates direction, rather than being a measurement of acceleration that needs to be processed to extract directional information.
