These products of PMIC are used to build devices that convert AC power to DC form at a greatly reduced voltage. Devices that contain major switching elements of the system and devices that do not contain major switching elements of the system are included. Because of the high ratio of input-output voltages in such systems and the usual need for isolation, they are usually used with external transformers.
